You may have never listened to a song by Solange nor did you know that she is Beyonce’s intruiging younger sister – but her latest drop ‘A Seat At The Table’ is a true masterpiece that you need to hear. She’s been working on it for the past 4 years and we can tell you, some amazing people worked on it. Raphael Saadiq produced a lot of songs including our favorites: ‘Weary’ and ‘Cranes in The Sky’. (These tracks really makes you look forward to a new Saadiq album by the way). Qtip soothes our ears with his signature piano on Borderline (An Ode To Self-Care). And The Dream and BJ The Chicago Kid flow well on the song F.U.B.U. ‘Don’t Touch My Hair’ accompanied by Sampha is one of those songs that will be stuck in your head for days. Also, we end our list with a nice remix by who else then our man Kaytranada. The album is brilliantly narrated by Master P, who inspires with his street wisdom. In short, we think Solange definitely earned her seat at the table – it might be even more captivating and different than her sister’s Lemonade (did we really say that?). Go listen to our picks!
